DIFFERENT FORMS OF PRACTICE

5Rhythms Classes®:             We recommend newcomers to come to classes first. Through music, instruction, and demonstrations, the teacher helps us ask more of ourselves and seeks to lead us to a fuller embodiment of the Rhythms on and off the dance-floor. My own style is to leave plenty of room for dancers to experience their own movement. See here for more detail.

Sweat Your Prayers®:           This is a 5Rhythms practice session. There is minimal verbal input (unless everyone is new). The teacher helps us focus our attention into the body and guides us through the Wave with music. Although this may be an attractive option for those who want to dip their toes into the practice, I recommend first-timers start at a Class. Screen shot 2015-05-22 at 4.17.57 PM

Workshops                            There’s a limit on how deep anyone can go in a couple of hours. Workshops (one day, weekend, or longer) explore different themes and different levels of the work and invite us to dive deeper into the practice and truly find ourselves and each other.

Ongoing Groups                    When everyone in the room has made a commitment to turn up for each session, it is easier to drop deeper into the dance. This form combines some of the virtues of a workshop with the connection to everyday life provided by regular classes.
